History of the Hamilton-Turner Inn

The Inn
The Hamilton-Turner Inn is located in the heart of Savannah's Historic District on Lafayette Square along with the Cathedral of Saint John The Baptist, The Flannery O'Connor House, and The Andrew Low House. The bed and breakfast inn is within walking distance of River Street and Forsyth Park.
The Mansion, built in 1873, for wealthy jeweler, Samuel P. Hamilton and more recently belonging to "Mandy" from John Berendt's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", represents one of the finest examples of the Second French Empire styles of architecture in the United States.

Bed and Breakfast
The Hamilton-Turner Inn was one of the first homes in Savannah to have electricity. The Inn currently has 14 luxurious bedrooms and suites furnished with Empire, Eastlake, and Renaissance Revival period antiques, carefully chosen from area estates.
Several of the spacious bedrooms have working fireplaces and balconies overlooking the square. The bathrooms have either Victorian claw-foot tubs or whirlpools. The garden level features Savannah gray brick archways and hand hewn timbers.
