New Orleans Lodging

Visitors to New Orleans will find they have several choices of accommodations to chose from. Maison Dupuy- Two blocks from Bourbon Street, the Maison Dupuy is actually seven 19th-century town houses surrounding a courtyard, with a fountain in the center. The majority of rooms have balconies, and all have armchairs and desks. Grand Boutique Hotel- Writer Ann Rice fought Popeye's Fried Chicken creator Al Copeland, over the exterior neon deco facade, exclaiming, it clashed with Uptown New Orleans ambiance. She lost. Now this 44-suite hotel, with the Straya Restaurant downstairs, in-room refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, TV, and hair dryers; is a favorite for folks looking for a romantic getaway. Columns Hotel.- Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this white-column 1883 Victorian-style hotel was the setting for the film Pretty Baby. Bayou Segnette State park- 98 sites, water and electricity, tent pads, barbecue grills, picnic tables, 20 furnished cabins with screened porches over looking the bayou.
