Ocracoke Fishing

You can charter offshore and inshore fishing from Ocracoke. Try O'Neal's Dockside at 252-928-1111 or the Ocracoke Fishing Center at 252-928-6661.

Portsmouth Expedition

Tour the ghost town of Historic Portsmouth, a 20 minute boat ride away from Ocracoke. A former shipping center, it was once the largest settlement of the Outer Banks. Camping is permitted along the beach out side of the Historic District, birdwatching, shelling, surf fishing, and claming are some of the opportunities available on Portsmouth. Seventy to ninety minute boat tours are also available which cover Blackbeard's hideout, Casey Island, Shell Castle Island, Portsmouth and Ocracoke Island. Daily trips to Portsmouth start in June and depart from Ocracoke at 9:30 and return to Portsmouth for pickup at 2:00. Boat tours may be scheduled anytime.
