Beyond the flash and spectacle of the Strip and the lure of the casinos, Las Vegas has lots to see. Most hotels offer some form of live entertainment - dancers, magicians, circus performers, and singers, just to name a few - and headline performers are a regular occurrence. Carnival Fantastique - An outdoor show in Harrah's courtyard features gymnasts and dancers. Located in Harrah's. 702-369-5000.
Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Movie Museum - Debbie Reynold's private collection of Hollywood memorabilia including sets, costumes, and props. 305 Convention Center Dr. Open Monday to Friday 10 AM to 10 PM, Saturday and Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM. 702-733-2243.
Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery - Displays modern art by faculty, students, and touring shows. Located on the campus of the University of Las Vegas (1.5 miles east of the Strip). Open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm during school year; Monday-Friday 11-4 rest of year. 702-895-3893.
Guinness World of Records Museum - Features exhibits and presentations on the various human achievements memorialized in the Guinness Book of Records. Located at 2780 Las Vegas Blvd. Open daily June-August, 9am-8pm; rest of year 9am-6pm. 702-792-3766.
Imperial Palace Antique and Classic Auto Collection - Displays over 250 antique and rare automobiles. Located on the parking terrace of the Imperial Palace Hotel. Open daily 9:30am-11:30pm. 702-731-3311.
King Tut's Tomb and Museum - Replicates the tomb as found by the Carter expedition in 1922. Located in the Luxor Hotel. Open Friday-Saturday 9am to 11:30pm, Sunday-Thursday 9am to 11pm. 702-262-4822.
Las Vegas Art Museum - Collection emphasizes the work of local and regional artists. 9600 W. Sahara. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM. 702-360-8000.
Las Vegas Natural History Museum - Features displays of animals in their natural habitat, a collection of wildlife artwork, and an animated dinosaur room. Located at 900 Las Vegas Blvd. Open daily 9am-4pm; closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. 702-384-3466.
The Liberace Museum - Contains a collection of rare pianos, jewelry, and clothes formally belonging to the entertainer. Located at 1775 E. Tropicana Ave. Open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 1-5; closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. 702-798-5595.
