Clearwater is the community attached to Clearwater Beach by the Memorial Causeway. Although we use the names interchangeably, most tourists will be spending time on Clearwater Beach, the island bordered on one side by the Intracoastal Waterway and on the other by the Gulf of Mexico.
Clearwater is a popular vacation spot, with the wide, white sandy beaches and gentle surf that typify Gulf Coast beaches. There are a wide range of accommodations and activities to keep the family busy on vacation. And, unlike many vacation resorts, there's a large metropolitan area nearby, giving access to the full range of museums, shopping and activities that a large city offers.
