Since its founding, Miami has focused on bringing in travelers and showing them a good time. There are places in the city where the party never seems to stop. There is always something to see or do. This city is packed with ways to entertain. There are beaches and hot dance clubs, historical regions and tourist traps. It is nearly impossible to run out of options.
Miami Beach- The Beach extends north to 87th St. and south to South Pointe Park. There are public showers and plenty of sun and sand.
South Beach- Where the beautiful people go to be seen. The hotels sport café's and restaurants usually with a Ferrari or Lamborghini adorning the curbside parking. A great place to blade is along the curvy concrete boardwalk that is a buffer between busy Ocean Ave. and the Beach. The beach itself is clean and wide not the best walking beach but a great beach to see topless babes in thongs.
Haulover Beach- Located in North Miami Beach just north of the A1A bridge is a popular beach predominately for gays, and old people who like to tan in the buff.
Crandon Park- Popular for parents with kids, $3 admission Picnic tables and grills available. Located 4000 Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, opening daily until sunset.
Mid-Beach- Located in the middle of the high rise condos between 40th-70th streets. Usually a deserted stretch of beach.
Chalk's Seaplanes- Aerial tours of Miami, Key West and charters to the Bahamas. 1000 MacArthur Causeway (Watson Island Seaplane Base), Miami Beach. 305-371-8628.
Biscayne National Underwater Park- Family snorkeling and scuba diving available on the 20 foot-high coral reefs, canoe rentals($8 hr.) and picnic area. Glass bottom boat rides through mangrove creeks and islands out to the reefs. Reservations required. Glass bottom boat tour leaves at 10:00 adults: $19.95, children $12.95. scuba/snorkeling departs at 1:30 pm. Scuba diving departs 8:30am. Scuba diving $44.95, snorkeling $29.95. 305-230-1100.
Biscayne Nature Center- Marine Exploration coastal hammock hikes, fossil-rock reef walks, and beach walks. Led by a naturalist guide. Reservations required. Crandon Park, Key Biscayne. 305-642-9600.
Coopertown Airboat Rides- Airboat rides and alligator exhibitions since 1945. Guided tours through the Everglades. 22700 SW 8th St. Miami, 305-226-6048.
Key Biscayne Boat Rentals- Power boats, jet boats, wave runner for rent hourly, half day and full day. Packages for fishing, diving, snorkeling sightseeing and waterskiing. 3301 Rickenbaker Causeway. 305-361-7368.
Miami Museum of Science- There is a new interactive sports exhibit here that shows how the body performs. There is a climbing wall and other athletic interactive displays. 3280 S. Miami Ave., Miami, 305-854-4247.
