   NEW ORLEANS NIGHTLIFE

No other city in America plays as much or as long as New Orleans. With a 24-hour liquor license, "last call" usually comes when you've run out of quarters. Bars stay open as long as there's a crowd, and there is every type of bar to suite just about every kind of patron.. Whiskey, beer and wine can be bought anywhere at anytime. Bar patrons can even take their drinks with them, as long as it's in a plastic "to go" cup. And many do, as they head off to see a show, because music isn't just a scene here, it's a way of life. And it seems that New Orleanians place as much emphasis on their music as they do their drinking and dining. Due to the high turn over rate in bar ownership, individual bars are not listed here. For many though the destination is Bourbon Street.
