Carolina Beach is very different in character from other Cape Fear beaches. In a way, it is something of a museum. This is one of the last beaches on the East Coast that retains a '40's-'50's atmosphere. From the boardwalk to the signs, it's an unmistakable feeling. Accommodations are usually smaller, family owned businesses. Some represent an excellent vacation value. As you move south along the island, the beach becomes wider and less populated, terminating at Fort Fisher.
Compared to many East Coast beaches, Carolina Beach is underdeveloped and teeming with potential. In 10 years (probably less), you'll be wishing you had bought property here.
