Golf is the primary attraction in Pinehurst, and many choose to stay in the resorts and country clubs in and around the town. A less expensive option are the franchise properties concentrated on US 1 in Southern Pines. (Southern Pines, Pinehurst and Aberdeen are within a few miles of each other.) The franchise operations seem a little better kept than in most areas.
