Charleston offers a wide range of hotel, as well as other, accommodations. There are single bedrooms in historic houses, larger bed and breakfasts, historic inns, chain hotels with pretensions to grandeur, and even a range of budget locations. Staying in the historic district adds significantly to the cost, but the atmosphere is very nice. If cost is a concern, try visiting in the low seasons (winter & mid-summer), or travel a few miles north on I-26 to find budget hotels in the $29-$69 range.
