Charleston Shopping


Second only to the sights and history of Charleston is shopping. The streets are filled with small shops in historic buildings. The majority of the shopping is located in two areas a few blocks apart. The first is along King Street, home to countless antique, collectibles, clothing and gift shops. The second is Meeting Street around the old Market. The market is filled with vendors selling the local art, foods, books, baskets, clothing and souvenirs.

Hoppin' John's- A specialty shop for Southern and Lowcountry traditional cooking. Numerous cook books on the subject some by the owner himself. Also specializing in the hard to find condiments that cling to the South's Culinary Heritage, all of which are made in Charleston. 30 Pinckney Street. 843-577-6404.
