Ripley's Believe it or Not!

More than 500 exhibits, oddities and artifacts. Adults $7, children $4.50. 901 N Ocean Blvd.

Motion Master

Moving theater, move with the picture, giant 70 mm screen, surround sound.

Ripley's Aquarium-

One of the most impressive attractions on the Strand. Displays include tanks and exhibits from a variety of marine environments, including a 310 foot tunnel beneath and in the shark tank. Open year round. Broadway at the Beach, 1110 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, 29577. 843-916-0888.

Horry County Museum

A museum for the area with animal exhibits, models, pictures, and artifacts from the 1700's, when the area was a center for shipbuilding and logging. Display of the coastal plains Native Americans. Free, Mon.-Sat. 10-5. Located 438 Main St. Conway. 843-248-1542.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

A four course banquet dinner with show. Dinner consists of soup, whole roasted chicken, spare ribs, herb potato and pastries. The show includes precision military drills with 8 Andalusion Stallions, full contact jousting, hand to hand combat and sword fights. Group rates are available and reservations are suggested. Myrtle Beach National Wax Museum

Thirty scenes from the last supper to Elvis. Located 1000 N. Ocean Blvd. Myrtle Beach. 843-448-9921.

South Strand



Rice Museum

A history with maps, dioramas, artifacts, and video of the society that grew from the cultivation of rice. Includes a changing gallery of art and history. Admission $2 adults, children free. Open M-Sat. 9:30-4:30. Closed on holidays.

Kaminski House

Built in the 1760's by a wealthy merchant as a gift to get his daughter out of the house, the house is now home to a fine collection of antiques. It also has a nice view overlooking the river. Located at 1003 Front St. Tours M-Sat. 10-4, Sun 1-4. Adults $4, children $2.

Hopsewee Plantation

A Georgian plantation house c.1740, birth place of Thomas Lynch Jr. signer of the Declaration of Independence. Open Year Round. Tue-Fri. 10-4. Admission $8 adults, $5 children. US 17, South of Georgetown.

Brookgreen Gardens

Beautiful area once the grounds of a prosperous rice plantation. Over 9,000 acres of savannah, marshes, and beaches. Canopies of live oaks, formal gardens, sculpture gardens, and botanical gardens. Wildlife park includes foxes, otters, and alligators. Bird sanctuary and raptor aviary. Serpentine boardwalk of a half-acre swamp. Picnic areas, open year round, Located U.S. 17 S. Bellefield Nature Center

Coastal environments, saltwater touch tank, local wildlife and research programs. Open year round, Free. 10-5 M-F, S 1-5. US 17, South of Pawleys Island 843-546-4623
