Richmond has two distinct areas of nightlife. The undisputed leader is Shockoe Bottom, on the east side of downtown. Two or so blocks are ringed with clubs that vibrate on Friday and Saturday nights. The best way to choose is just to simply walk around and try some out. Covers are minimal to non-existent. The other area is the Fan, where there are a variety of options, but more dispersed.
